2009

July 20. After a frustrating hiatus, I resume running! 

May 27. Operation Triumph hosts Laughter with Sprinkles on Top, an improv comedy fundraiser to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society.

May 5. I still cannot run and so much need this emotional catharsis :-(

April 24. My beloved mother, Mei Ling Leung, passes away peacefully after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer.  My world goes silent but I want to scream!

April 16.  A hip injury dashes my chances to participate in the Ottawa Marathon.

2008

Nov 15. Private screening of "Centerfolds from Hell", a shlock B-movie in which I starred very early in my acting career. Hilarious fundraiser hosted by Operation Triumph.

Sept 18. Operation Triumph and Comedy Nest present "Comedy for a Cause" in memory of Ernie Butler who passed away from cancer.

Sept 13. Ironman Celebration Loft Party - Private get-together to share my exuberance with friends!

Aug 31. Completed Ironman Louisville in Kentucky ... Race report here.  Tough, tough race.

June 8. I place 3rd in my AG at the Oka Sprint Triathlon.  Ha ha! Race report here.

June 2. The documentary play Import/Export opens at the Festival TransAmerique and is well received.  I play seven characters and speak four languages - English, French, Mandarin and Cantonese. Awesome!

Follow your bliss!

As a member of Operation Triumph, I raced Ironman Louisville 2008 in honour of my mother who was terminally ill with cancer and whom I loved dearly.  I believe in dreams and miracles and making things happen. Follow me on my journey as I train, live, laugh, love, and "tri" ... Nothing is impossible.

The Universe sent me a sign today ...

In my head, I'd decided to do the Ottawa Half Ironman this Saturday, and my tri friends had agreed that I should go for the longer distance over the sprint, but then I got sick last week and couldn't train.

I'm feeling better now after this short but intense virus and actually had a good training today (50k cycle). So, missing one intense training weekend out of an available five seriously nicks "cramming" for a Half Iron, so I decided to do the Sprint Tri instead to play it safe, 'cause you and I both know I haven't done the miles for a Half, and I still have a hip injury.

So, I go online and lo and behold ...
